Blade Refugium LED Light - 12" - Aqua Illumination

The Aqua Illumination Blade Refugium is a 12" refugium light built to grow nutrient-consuming macroalgae in your sump. Its horticultural spectrum of red and blue is designed to optimize macroalgae growth, helping you take your biological filtration to the next level. Of the Aqua Illumination Blade spectrums, the Refugium model is the one made for growing macroalgae.

Why Choose the Blade Refugium LED Light?

• Refugium spectrum for optimal growth of macroalgae
• EdgeField Optics with even PAR and smooth color mixing
• Cluster group LEDs with a 95-degree spread
• Minimal shadowing and natural shimmer
• IP66 water resistance
• Passive, noiseless cooling
• Smart control via the myAI or Mobius apps
• Low-profile Tank Rest included

Spectrum and Optics

The Refugium model is one of four Blade spectrums, alongside Coral Grow, Coral Glow, and Freshwater. Each Blade strip includes roughly one light cluster group per foot of fixture length, and the 12" Blade Refugium's cluster holds 24 diodes: 6 red, 6 royal blue, 6 cool white, and 6 430nm. Tight grouping and balanced diode placement, combined with EdgeField Optics and a 95-degree spread, let light wrap around high points for a smooth blanket of illumination.

Mounting Options

• Tank Rest (included): a low-profile mount that sits directly on top of your tank and extends up to 4.5 inches on either side of the fixture
• Elevated Tank Rest: a sturdy mount for rimmed or rimless tanks that increases light spread and allows easier access than the standard Tank Rest
• Hanging Kit: brushed aluminum with a black finish, able to mount 3, 4, or 6 light bars in parallel
• Hybrid Mount: combines Blade strips with one or more AI Hydra or EcoTech Radion pendant fixtures
• HMS Adapter Arm: also listed among the Blade mounting choices
• Custom mounting: M8 mounting threads at each end let you build your own mount

App Control

Control the Blade wirelessly from iOS and Android devices with the free myAI or Mobius app. Customize spectrum intensity, set custom schedules for each light, or choose from in-app templates. Each Blade also has onboard controls for cycling through spectrums.

The Blade is compatible with MXM, developed by Neptune Systems, EcoTech Marine, and AquaIllumination, so your AI and EcoTech lights and pumps can run under the wireless control of Apex and Apex Fusion without switching between apps.
